Memory Lane Café

Memory Lane Café

Our new social space, Memory Lane Café, has got off to a wonderful start. As I write I am looking forward to our third session.

Memory Lane Café is a social space for everyone, and particularly friendly for people with memory issues such as dementia. Each week we share tea, coffee and homemade cake. We sing a song or two, and enjoy a free raffle.

We have been blessed with many volunteers- some who are experts in memory issues, either by training or experience. We are a learning community, and react to the needs of the guests.

One change we had to make at the beginning was to change venues. We pass on our thanks to Brill Sports and Social Club for so generously letting us use the building. However we found some people struggled with the acoustics, so we have moved into Brill church where it is easier to hear.

We have been enjoying sharing friendly chat and getting to know one another. As we go on we will plan a schedule of events, speakers and activities.

We would like to invite you to come and join us each Monday 11am-12.30pm, Brill church. Or is there anyone else you know who would like to come? Perhaps a friend, neighbour or family member. There’s no need to book, just pop along and say hello, we would love to see you!
